Important Notes & Regulations
NO AFTERMARKET FILM ALLOWED on windshield/front sides (factory glass only).
NO AFTERMARKET WINDSHIELD TINT (max 10cm sun visor strip OK).
Front sides min 70% VLT; in practice, ANY film is illegal as factory glass is already ~70%.
MANDATORY: Film must have ABG (General Type Approval) laser-etched on every window.
Paper ABG certificate MUST be in glovebox.
Mirror/Reflective films forbidden.
Illegal tint voids the vehicle operating license (Betriebserlaubnis).
MANDATORY: Approval sticker must be placed BETWEEN the film and the glass (cannot be on top).
PRO TIP: The fine is secondary.
The real penalty is the on-the-spot removal order or confiscation of the vehicle registration as the operating license (Betriebserlaubnis) is voided.
