How this is calculated

cost per 100 km = consumption per 100 km × unit price

Default consumption: 6.5 l/100 km petrol, 5.0 l/100 km diesel, 17.0 kWh/100 km electric. Every country page has sliders for all three.

Fuel: national average pump prices published weekly by the European Commission, all taxes included, mirrored on fuel-prices.eu since 2005. Each row carries the week of its own latest figure, never a borrowed one.

Electricity: Eurostat, household consumers, consumption band DC (2 500–4 999 kWh a year), all taxes and levies included, H2 2025.

That is the household rate, so this is the cost of charging at home. Public fast charging costs more.

Electricity price source: Eurostat, dataset nrg_pc_204.

All prices in euro. Eurostat publishes household electricity in euro, so nothing here passes through an exchange rate.
