What is a “HOT · 72h” diesel gap?
When the official weekly gap between two neighbours first crosses our wide-gap threshold (~€0.12/L), we mark the corridor HOT for about 72 hours. That is the window where filling on the cheap side usually saves the most before markets catch up.
Where do these prices come from?
Country averages come from the European Commission Weekly Oil Bulletin (fuel_prices series on fuel-prices.eu) — official consumer prices with taxes, updated weekly. They are national averages, not a specific motorway station.
Diesel or petrol — which gap matters?
Corridors are ranked on diesel (most cross-border tank tourism). Where the bulletin also publishes petrol 95 (euro95), we show that gap as a secondary line so you can check both tanks.
How do I use this when driving?
