Austria requires a vignette for all motorways (€9.60 for 1 day, €12.80 for 10 days, digital or sticker) — plus separate Sondermaut fees on alpine crossings like the Brenner (A13), Tauern (A10), Karawanken tunnel and Arlberg tunnel, paid per passage.
The official channel is ASFINAG Shop (digital vignette) (shop.asfinag.at). The vignette itself is bought online or at petrol stations and border shops, not at a barrier. The separate Sondermaut alpine crossings do have toll booths that accept cash and bank cards. Buying from official operator sites avoids reseller markups.
