The 1-day vignette is valid for exactly 24 hours from your chosen start time – not calendar days. If you enter at 2 PM, it's valid until 2 PM the next day. Perfect for overnight transits!
The e-dálnice is valid immediately after purchase. You can buy it while waiting at the border or even while driving (as a passenger!) and use the motorway right away.
Since January 2021, Czech Republic is 100% digital. You won't receive any sticker – the vignette is linked to your license plate number. Make sure to enter it correctly!
The e-dálnice is required on all Czech motorways (dálnice) and expressways (rychlostní silnice), marked with green "D" signs.
Unlike Austria or Switzerland, Czech Republic has no separate tunnel tolls. All tunnels are covered by the e-dálnice. The vignette price is all you pay!
Czech Republic uses automatic license plate recognition cameras at motorway entrances and throughout the network. You will be caught without a valid e-dálnice.
Common reasons for fines:
The most common reason for fines is entering the license plate incorrectly. Always verify the plate number (including country code) before completing your purchase. You can check validity at edalnice.gov.cz.
