Between 3 August and 10 October, our weekly recap for Italy appeared only twice: an error in our event detector and too strict a publishing rule held it back. Both were corrected on 11 October 2026. This recap covers the whole period; from now on the weekly recap appears whenever the national average of diesel or petrol moves by at least 0.3% over the week.

About the data
The national average is the unweighted mean of the prices reported each day by at least 21,000 stations, for Gasolio and Benzina, from Osservaprezzi Carburanti (Ministero delle Imprese e del Made in Italy). A day on which far fewer stations than usual report is left out of our series. Percentages are calculated from unrounded averages; prices are rounded to two decimals, and fill-up differences are calculated from the prices shown. How we calculate.
