fuel-prices.eu report based on the daily average of station prices
On 2 September 2026, the national average price of petrol in Spain reached €1.78/l, the highest price in our daily series of live station prices (since 26 June 2026). That is €0.047 a litre above the previous peak of €1.73/l, recorded on 1 September 2026.

Prices are reported by station operators to Geoportal de Hidrocarburos (Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico (MITECO)). We collect them once a day and calculate the averages in this article ourselves. The national average is the unweighted mean of the 10,981 stations that reported a valid price for petrol, after we drop readings outside our plausibility range. Full method: how we calculate.
